At Point Energy Partners, our Management Team is composed of industry leaders with extensive oil and gas experience building and leading private equity-backed companies, independent public companies, and multinational oilfield service providers.

Our broad-based technical and financial knowledge coupled with our operational experience forms the foundation of our collaborative and innovative approach to building a successful company that is safely and efficiently developing our core Delaware Basin position. 

Bryan Moody

Chief Executive Officer

A founding member of Point Energy Partners, Bryan is a proven oil and gas executive who has raised billions of dollars in equity and senior notes in private and public markets, and has negotiated and managed credit facilities for multiple E&Ps.

He has more than a decade of experience leading reservoir engineering, finance and business development at Eclipse Resources, EXCO Resources and Sandridge Energy, and has overseen the analysis, acquisition and integration of more than $3 billion in assets. Bryan has a bachelor’s in nuclear engineering technology and an MBA from the University of Rochester. 

John Sabia

Chief Financial Officer

A founding member of Point Energy Partners, John oversees finance and business development for the organization. Previously, John served as senior vice president at Holland Services where he managed working interests, minerals and royalties for institutional clients and family offices. 

While at Holland, John was responsible for the funding and growth of Vine Royalty L.P., which was backed by a multi-national institutional investment company. Prior to Holland Services, he worked at Goldman Sachs & Co. John has a bachelor’s in geospatial information systems from the United States Military Academy at West Point, is a graduate of the U.S. Army’s Ranger and Airborne schools; additionally, he has an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

Joel Acosta

Senior Vice President of Operations

Joel has over 16 years of drilling and operations experience in the Delaware Basin. Most recently, he was Vice President of Operations for Crescent Consulting, where he teamed with other operators to design, drill and operate wells throughout the country with a focus on Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. Joel has also held drilling and operations leadership roles with SandRidge Energy, RKI Exploration & Production and WPX Energy managing respective drilling programs, running as many as 26 rigs and leading teams of engineers and superintendents. Joel has a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University.

Jay Brenner

Senior Vice President of Operations

Mr. Brenner joined Point Energy in 2021 as Vice President of Operations, where he leads the company’s completions, water recycling and production operations efforts. Mr. Brenner’s 10 years of experience has been almost completely focused on the Delaware Basin. Prior to joining Point Energy Partners Jay oversaw served as the Completions Manager for the Permian assets at Devon Energy in OKC. Before his time at Devon Jay was the Completions Manager for WPX Energy in Tulsa overseeing all completion activities in the Permian, Bakken, and Sand Juan Basins.  Additionally, he has led field superintendents, water recycling, and reservoir engineering teams. Jay holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and is an EMBA candidate from Price College of Business at Oklahoma University.   Mr. Brenner served six years in the Army National Guard as an MLRS crew member.

Cameron Boyd

Vice President of Operations

Cameron joined Point Energy with over 18 years of experience in engineering roles focused on facilities, process engineering, material science and technical safety engineering. Cameron has more than 10 years of experience with Petrofac Facilities Management where he most recently served as Director of Engineering, focused on designing, building, and managing facilities in the Permian Basin. Additionally, he has extensive experience leading offshore platform facilities modifications, decommissioning, and technical safety programs. Cameron has both a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from The Ohio State University where he specialized in Metallurgy, Welding, and Industrial Systems Engineering.

Patrick Schell

Senior Production Engineer

Patrick joined Point Energy Partners in 2020 and has over a decade over industry experience. Prior to Point Energy he held various Production and Facilities Engineering roles at Chesapeake Energy and Approach Resources. He is a second-generation Petroleum Engineer and has Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Tulsa.

Erica Chalfant

Senior Production Engineer

Erica Chalfant joined the production engineering team at Point Energy Partners in January 2022, with prior artificial lift experience in the Permian and Delaware Basins from Schlumberger. She focuses her attention primarily toward ESP optimization and yielding higher uplift. Erica has a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum and Natural Engineering from West Virginia University.

Kelly Beverlin

Operations Technician

Kelly Beverlin joined Point Energy in 2021 and brings over 18 years of experience in the energy industry. Kelly’s responsibilities are focused on operations engineering support, field training and correspondence, as well as process implementation. Prior to Point Energy, Kelly spent the last 9 years as a Sr. Engineering Technician at Crescent Point Energy U.S. Corp. working the Uinta and Williston Basins. Kelly and her son moved to Fort Worth from Denver, CO where they spend their time at the ice rink pursuing his passion as an aspiring goal tender. 

Steven Pan

Vice President of Finance

Steven has more than a decade of combined corporate and investment banking experience, all of which were spent in the energy industry. He joined Point Energy Partners in 2021 from Houlihan Lokey’s Oil and Gas Group, where he advised clients on M&A, A&D, restructuring, and capital markets transactions. Before that, he held roles of increasing responsibility in corporate finance, business development, sales, and engineering functions with public and private companies. Steven holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, Steven is a CFA charterholder.

Nikki Tramel

Controller

Nikki brings 18 years of experience in oil and gas finance and accounting where she has worked in both public and private O&G companies. Prior to Point Energy Partners, Nikki served as Controller at Vaquero Energy Inc, a privately held E&P company, based out of California where she led a team of accountants and was responsible for all accounting and financial reporting for the several different entities across five states. Nikki began her career at Occidental Petroleum in 2004 as an accountant where she rotated through various accounting responsibilities to financial analyst, subsequently transferring to the Financial Planning & Analysis team, and eventually to the Operations group as the Lead Cost Control where she led a team of analysts and oversaw project costs across California. Born and raised in California, Nikki, her husband, and their three daughters, moved to Fort Worth to join the Point Energy Partners team in January 2022.  Nikki holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance from California State University of Bakersfield. 

Leslie Powell

Accounts Payable Manager

Leslie began her oil and gas career in 2005 with EOG Resources in Accounts Payable, spending 10 years there she also ended up in the operations team managing budgets and project costs. While furthering her career experience, Leslie joined Chisolm Energy Operating, LLC as an Accountant and Accounts Payable Supervisor for the next few years. Leslie joined the Point Energy Partners team in February 2022 and is the Accounts Payable Manager while also assisting in various other accounting and regulatory responsibilities. A Fort Worth native, Leslie is an active member of the local oil and gas community where she serves as the Treasurer for Oilfield Connections International, Fort Worth Chapter. 

Andrew St. John

Vice President of Land and Legal

Andrew is an accomplished attorney with more than 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He has represented multiple upstream and midstream clients on a variety of topics including operations, A&D, and general corporate matters. Andrew has a background in land title and has managed large teams of landmen and attorneys on title, acquisition, due diligence, and asset management projects in basins throughout the US. Andrew has a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston.

John Evans

Land Manager

John has a bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science and master’s degree in Land Development. He began his career as a field landman in 1996 in South Texas and has garnered extensive experience in Land and Land related matters during that time.  Throughout his career, he has successfully transacted more than $500MM in acquisitions and divestitures and overseen in certain cases a 700% growth rate of those corporate asset bases. 

His experience in collaborating with all disciplines within a company has yielded accelerated growth opportunities for each company’s development program by mitigating unnecessary delays in bringing production onstream and maximizing each company’s return on its invested capital. John brings nearly 25 years of experience in managing Land Departments in both the public and private markets and in various basins both onshore and offshore.  

Chris Savage

Vice President of Geology

Chris joined Point Energy Partners in August 2020, bringing more than 10 years of industry experience to the organization. Previously, he was the principal geologist for the development of Bone Spring and Wolfcamp projects in the Delaware Basin for Anadarko Petroleum where he led a 10-member geology team. He has a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University and is a member of WTGS and AAPG

Eric Rasmusson

Senior Geologist

After getting degrees in geology at BYU-Idaho and Utah State University, Eric began his career working in the Delaware Basin with Anadarko Petroleum in 2015. In 2021, he joined Point Energy. Eric has held various development and technical roles including geosteering, well planning, mapping, and A&D. He was also part of the Data Science and Analytics team creating spatial machine learning models of production across the basin. 

Mark Graff

Chief Information Officer

Mark began his career in 2003 at Chesapeake Energy, first working in IT and later Geosciences. More recently, Mark led a 12-person team as Director of IT at Eclipse Resources. Throughout his career, Mark has continued to develop his knowledge of oil and gas operations and back-office processes. His understanding of the business coupled with his technical knowledge has made Mark rarely suited to support every aspect of our business, which relies heavily on data driven results and process automation. At Point Energy Partners, Mark oversees the IT and Instrumentation & Electrical groups. Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in IT with a Software Emphasis from Western Governors University and a master’s degree in Data Analytics from Penn State University.
